C-reactive protein is mainly produced in your cat ‘s liver in response to inflammation or tissue damage anywhere in its body. It is one of the positive acute-phase proteins that all respond in this general way when your pet’s macrophages and T-cells release pro-inflammatory cytokines. C-reactive protein blood levels go up within a matter of hours after inflammation begins and return to normal 1-2 weeks after the problem subsides.
C-reactive protein values have been used to monitor many causes of infection and inflammation in people and pets. The test can not tell you what the source of inflammation is or where it is located. But it does confirm its presence and that your pet is truly ill.
IL-6, interleukin 6 cytokines are another nasty inflammatory response. ImmunoPet showed in a study that it had the ability to reduce this marker. IL-6 is usually present when the immune system isn’t working well, and therefor your cat will start to shows signs
If your cat is having skin problems the usual suspects are external, like fleas, mites, fungus, or bacteria. Sometimes the problem, as the old saying goes, is more than skin deep. A dysfunctional immune system can cause much more serious issues than a few flea bites.
When your cat has an auto immune disease it means that the body is attacking itself. Your cats immune system doesn’t recognize certain normal, healthy cells and begins too destroy them. The most common cat skin problem is Pemphigus. It causes blister and sores and hair loss. She is likely to be itchy and lethargic.
Inhalant allergies are reactions caused by breathing pollens, dust, mites, moulds and other environmental toxins. ImmunoPet works at reducing these symptoms by balancing the immune system, reducing the inflammation and relieving nasal sinus reactions to the allergens
